Toby

Prince Tobias of White Oak
Critter Patrol

Toby has a great back story about him. He was found on the side of a highway, filthy, completely matted and starving. At that time it was impossible to tell what breed of small dog he was, but it was obvious he was only a few years old.  He had on no collar, and as we later found, had no chip.

We tried to take care of the severe mats with a bath at home, but it was soon obvious he needed to go to the vet's office.

After the vet knocked him out so he could shave his entire body to rid him of those mats, a young, full blood male white and black Cavalier King Charles bounced through the door. I could have sworn that wasn't the same dog that was rescued from the highway!  Who knew we had rescued royalty!  His name was then changed from Toby to Prince Tobias of White Oak!

Because of his time outdoors on his own before we rescued him, to this day Toby prefers to sleep underneath something; a bed, a sheet, a blanket, anything that he can burrow himself under for comfort and safety.

We've come to know that Toby does not share well, but then, what Prince does? He will guard his toys at all costs and is really quite the maniac about it.

That was nearly five years ago, and his playful nature and friendly attitude has persisted to this day. He was rewarded us every day with thankful cuddles and his lust for life.

We look forward to many more years of Toby's youthful exuberance!
