Alex aka Owwie

Alex was a large golden retriever with the classic reddish brown coloring. He was rescued from a farm in Pendleton County, Kentucky covered with fleas and ticks. He adapted well, and it was soon discovered that he had quite the gentle personality to the point of being skiddish around any new things or people.

He loved his little stuffed animals, and whenever anybody came to the door, he would scurry to find one to put in his mouth before he was able to greet them. They were his little safety blankets.

Alex became sick five years after he was rescued and crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at an early age. This left Katie lonely and distraught, so this led to our next rescue, Rudy.
